Look daddy it is a cat!
He smiled and continued checking his mobile. I watched them while sipping coffee in a beautiful café in Al-Wabdi, Amman. “Look” may be just a word in the English language, but people often don’t truly look. They glance over, drowning in an ocean of memories, worries, grief, and fear.
Then, Maria come to join me for coffee, smiling as she asked, “Am I late?”
Suddenly, “Look!” became the word of the moment. I could see the smallest spark in her smiling eyes. With her, I felt like a child, yet I carried the weight of a thousand years.
I pointed and said, “Look at that beautiful child over there. Do you know what we have in common?” She replied, “What? Is she yours?”
I wished she were! What we have in common is: Look!
May the brown thread in my book “Threads for Life” guide you to dwell in the moment and truly see.
